Most modern vehicles today contain an onboard computer known as an Engine Control Unit (ECU) which continually monitors the performance of the vehicle. Sensors all around the vehicle report back to the ECU if there are problems such as low fluid levels or increased engine temperature. When an issue is identified the ECU generates an error code. The relevant dashboard warning lights will then be displayed.
At Auto Solutions we have the latest tools and equipment to plug directly into your vehicle ECU, also known as Engine Control Unit, where we can take a reading of all the data that is stored on that system. From there one of our technicians will be able to make an accurate assessment of any faults detected within your vehicle.
Typically when errors are detected they show up as a warning light on your dashboard. You may also experience some of the symptoms of a faulty ECU itself, which include warnings like: the engine checks light coming on, engine stalling or misfiring, engine performance issues or your car might fail to start.
